Self-made turquoise blue dress (Vogue 1048 - designer Chado Ralph Rucci) - Vestido de linho azul-turquesa feito por mim

EN: I made this dress in the summer of 2008 (end of July) and it’s one of those projects that may be considered as labor of love. The construction followed couture methods and there is much hand-sewing involved (the knot buttons and braids are made of self-fabric bias strips sewn into little tubes of fabric; also note the tiny bound buttonholes and the bullion stitch that holds the braid to the hem). The dress is underlined and lined and I used thin hair canvas (sew-in) as interfacing. The pattern is Out of Print and it’s no longer available on Vogue Patterns website but a few copies can still be found on eBay. You can read the full sewing review if you wish (click here and scroll down to find the English review). Thank you all for reading!
